MUSIC

From the recording, "Pierre Cruzatte: A Musical Journey Along the Lewis & Clark Trail," available on CD and cassette from Native Ground Music, (800) 752-2656.

We strove to make this recording sound just like what you would have heard along the trail: tunes and songs of the Lewis & Clark era played only on instruments that the expedition carried or had access to. Just as on the trail, we had "Two Violins & plenty of Musicians in our party"--you can find the personnel & credits listed here. The liner notes, which you can find here, contain many of the music-oriented journal entries from the expedition.

All files are in mp3 format.

VIDEO

(Well, there's supposed to be a 30-second preview, but I haven't been able to get it to work on my Mac. Please let me know if it works on your machine.)

(This is Pierre Cruzatte in the old days, before he discovered how much easier it was to play the fiddle on his chest rather than under his chin.)
