From the recording, "Pierre Cruzatte: A Musical Journey Along the Lewis & Clark Trail," available on CD and cassette from Native Ground Music, (800) 752-2656. We strove to make this recording sound just like what you would have heard along the trail: tunes and songs of the Lewis & Clark era played only on instruments that the expedition carried or had access to. Just as on the trail, we had "Two Violins & plenty of Musicians in our party"--you can find the personnel & credits listed here. The liner notes, which you can find here, contain many of the music-oriented journal entries from the expedition. All files are in mp3 format. |

(Well, there's supposed to be a 30-second preview, but I haven't been able to get it to work on my Mac. Please let me know if it works on your machine.) |
(This is Pierre Cruzatte in the old days, before he discovered how much easier it was to play the fiddle on his chest rather than under his chin.) |
